          Yup that was my first time on a track, good fun

          Unfortunatly some cossie or other ford emtied its sump onto a bend and the track was shut for 1 1/2 hours to clean up, that resulted in the session being very busy for the last hour, normally much less cars on track.

          Shame he has edited out the sections with me in front through the bends and just left the hairpin and main straight for most of the video, the bends was where the s2 was fun. I would imagine in the dry that golf would be seriously quick, its running approx 300bhp at the moment but will be 500+ when finished.

          I need to get some tyres for the dry though, that was done on 225 khumo ku39 which worked on in the wet (for my level
          )

            I've been looking at dry tyre options. Yokohama AD08 look to be worth a try as an all-round summer sports tyre.

              It looked as much use in the wet as a chocolate tea pot

                More than likely on R888s and weighing in at 1 ton or under... quattro in the wet is rather a useful combination, Donny park in '07 prooved that, I'd lapped most of the field in about 7 laps All the buzzy little hot hatches and lightweights were spinning off all over the place but other than a little oversteer and understeer (that was totally controllable), I was in heaven, as was Newsh (excepting his boost issues at the time).

                  I am considering r888, ado8, kumho v70, or maybe a set of rs2s. Still need to make up my mind about 16s or 17s, anybody ever put sticky tyres on 16s?

                        I've looked into 16x8 but they're a rare size. Only reason to run them would be if you had loads of camber. There's some 215/45R17 R888s on eBay cheap at the mo.

                        RS2s aren't supposed to be that great on track on heavier cars but I've not tried them. R1R Toyota are another interesting option.
