Had a nice suprise today when I went to do my tyre pressures at Sainsburys today. Pulled up to start doing the tyres and had chap wander up and compliment the S2 and had a bit of a chat about them and he said he had just sold an Audi 80 sport to buy a volvo and was already missing it so was quite chuffed that the S2's still get noticed by the odd person.
It's a good buzz when the old metal gets a compliment alright, I had a couple of friends over recently who normally wouldn't comment on a car at all; they were saying how good the car was looking.
i used to get alot of compliment, almost everyday when i used to own the pearl white 3b. i think more so,because of the colour. loads of chatting once they realised it an Audi s2 quattro.
now i've got Rs2,people just don't know what to make of it.i supposed that's shows how very rare the Rs2 is really.
[SIGPIC][SIGPIC]/SIGPIC]92 3B pearl white=gone back home to Germany, probably in bits and pieces
Today at Tescos in Pulborough, My daughter and I parked up the Ur (with a mere 290 miles on the clock since a full mechanical rebuild, and being off the road since October 2009)... And a chap walked up with his son, he was as overwhelmed as his six year old son was underwhelmed... We chatted for a couple of minutes (well, he did, mainly about watching quattros in Wales, in 1982)... But it's lovely to receive enthusiasm about the cars we love, it makes it somehow worth while...

Took my daughter swimming the other day and the kids were just getting off the school bus as I pulled up, This about 8 year old lad said "wow look at that quattro" How did he know what it was
I get quite a few thumbs up whilst driving the UR, although a lorry did try to squash me the other day against the barrier

Last time me and you went and got fuel in it a chap walked over and asked if it would be ok to take some pictures of it :thumbs
Strangely, the best car compliment was when I was in the allroad. I had just polished it and it was looking particularly fresh. They arent a pretty car - even to those who like them. My S2 is so scruffy and tired looking that it doesn't get a 2nd look - except when I overtake people up hills in the snow and ice.
I never got any comments about the S2's, but when I had my Cosworth it was all the time!
Always at petrol stations blokes saying "I had one of those years ago", "I always wanted one", "You dont see these much now" etc
Was in McDonalds drive through and someone shouted over asking if I wanted to sell it!
But the best one was being stopped by a traffic police range rover, he walked and and said "Dont worry, youve not done anything wrong, Ive got one myself and am in the RS Owners Club and just fancied a look at it"

Have a Delorian DMC12 sat in the garage in Calgary. That thing always got comments when it was out. Had the being stopped by the RCMP so they could take a look. Worst thing was always comming back and seeing all the finger prints all over it when I came back. mPlus all the smart **** wise cracks about back to the future. Always funny when people tell you how much theyd love one etc and you are sat there thinking what a complete nightmare of a car it really is.
S2 has had a few flashes, manly from other Audi S-Line drivers.
