how to read schematic

does anybody knows how to read a schematic repair manul (car stereo)?

I would like to know which terminals are for the illumination on the face panel (audi concert 2, panasonic)


I can see that i need ILL1 and ILL2

* someone told me its pin 5 and 6, can some confirm this?
how should i do it? give +5V ?

But i cant locate them on the 18 pins connector

The service manual doesn't show a schematic drawing the display PCB E-8951, only a block diagram which is enough for you needs. You'll need to identify the base and emitter terminals of the transistors Q632,Q634 and Q631,Q633. One base terminal of each pair will be directly connected to the emitter of it partner.

So for example, say the emitter of Q632 is coupled to Q634, both collectors will connected to the LED. So, in this case you need to follow the PCB trace of the base of Q632 back to the 18 pin connector CJ703 and repeat for the other Darlington pair.
