    Passat w8 brakes to S2?

    Good day!
OK sure someone on here has already done this but I cannot find
Has anyone fitted the passat w8 brakes to an S2 front and rear? If so what is needed to carry out and if you did fit them was it worth it?
    Help much appreciated.

Maybe you could check the part number for the W8 brakes off against the list I posted to this thread below

If it's the same then this is the 4 pad caliper generally called the HP2 caliper. I'll be looking into this in the coming weeks (as soon as I can get some calipers in my hands).

The dislike for them in general is the additional weight they add to the unsprung mass and hence the porsche brembo is the preferred option. The brake disc off the passat won't be any use to you as the hat height will be all wrong. Discs of an A8 / A6 would be better candidates.

Will do some more home work. These disc are the larger 334mm. Calipers have number 2FN42/32 on them. Thanks for the info.
      Thanks simon

The 334mm disc means you need 17" rims, any more information would be great to see.

Currently have 18" rims on the car so no problem there. Will let you know more when I get to work on car next. Skool holls kids home!!

the old s8 345x30 disc was a good match from memory but doesn't fit under a standard 996 C2/Boxster S monoblock without some extreme machining! I have a feeling the Passat disc was looked at a while back as the extra width would help cooling/performance but you'd be down to making bespoke brackets etc for the caliper to hang off and reposition for the revised offset.
