weird, mine definately looks lower at the front (as well as the back obviously) I'm running on Konis which have covered about 6k miles, so almost new...
perhaps its an illusion caused by running 16s and 50 profile tyres, maybe i should wait until i fit my 18s and see how it looks
So still undecided whether the HAs or VAs looks best on the rear!!

      Need more pics!!

I know my 7A is lighter than a 3B / ABY but not by more than 20-30kg I'd say when the turbo, wastegate intercooler etc are all weighed in, definately not enough to drop the front of the car by 10mm to match the rear anyway
Besides, the front of mine is about right I think in terms of ride height, don't want it any lower
Keep in mind the VA/HA setup were brand new springs in those pics so they will have settled a bit more since then.

Difference in weight is ~100kg between 7A and ABY, almost all of which is over the front axle. Thats going by NCT test results from another forum member, my 7A was 1500kg, his S2 coupe was 1600kg, and my S2 Avant was 1700kg.

The springs are free / compressed lengths

          310 / 160mm front
          280 / 180mm rear

On an ABY at least, the load at the rear is roughly 2/3 that of the front, so the sag will be the in the same ratio-

          150mm x 2/3 ~ 100mm

Giving a compressed length of 210mm or ~ 30mm lift.

The HnR HAs do sit low, better bet is to space the top mounts a bit at the rear and run blues up front.

OR run HAs up front, this should see thefront drop with the lighter CQ shell but will leave the spring a few mm short when completely unloaded.

FYI, Avant springs are 10-15% stiffer, as they're 0.5mm larger wire diameter: 236lb or so

The issue with using the fronts on the rear is that they don't have the close coils bound on the front, so the rear mass certainly won't. This will make initial response quite saggy and it does little for the ride too, making it a bit bouncy.

Coilovers are a better solution, as you can't cut the front springs.
