I would be more than happy for all the parts I buy to be made in japan,at least you know they are good quality most if not all the time.

Anyone remember the korean made oil pumps from a couple of years back?someone on here took one apart prior to installing it and found it full of grinding dust from manufacture

All the replacement oil pumps from Audi in the last few years are made in Korea.

In Bulgaria chinese made automotive parts are real disaster!I would say that most of them became a synonym of low quality for a long time.I had a very bad experiance with a fuel pump which was actually chinese imitation of original VDO Siemens fuel pump althoug the price was almost the same as the OEM's price.Beware when purchase spares made in China, not all of them pass quality control and don't meet OEM standarts what is mandatory for important spare parts like fuel pumps, fuel injectors and so on.

If they were produced under the VAG-group.it means the QC is still comparable to
the made in germany parts.this's actually good thing since I have seen many rep. Parts
manufactured in China.unfortunately, the label identified made in Germany.if you purchase
the parts directly from dealer.the quality still good.I'm doing business with chinese
Peoples.I visit China twice a year .I'm not so surprised since I have seen even new air suspension from latest
                      Merc S-class manufactured in China.even Abs module,Airbag module,etc.

I agree,if parts are purchased directly from VAG dealer,no doubts about the quality.
But if you purchase spares from aftermarket you have to be extremely careful in details to be able to distinguish replicas from original quality. In some cases the poor quality is obvious and can be easily detected at first sight, but in other cases for example fuel pumps it's simply impossible.Except China,Turkey is also popular with the variety of poor quality replicas.

Lets not forget parts are all made cheap as possible.
An when something says made in Germany or England its probably come in from china then maybe held up against a light inspected :mischeif:a little gubbin attached then stamped made in Germany.,,,
