I hate anything in the air such as this that you have to go under.. However it has a pneumatically operated safety ratchet, similar to what stops a roller coaster from going backwards when being pulled up an incline.

Once up it parks itself on the said ratchet, the rams are not then in use, in fact you could take them off at that point if you so desired..

So nothing to worry about..

Thanks, Its actual free standing though i have bolted it down.

My garage floor is chipboard laid on concrete, i just cut two rectangle holes in the chipboard, used some self leveling compound on the rough concrete and sat it on that. So its only 19mm below what you can see.
