I had a friend who used to work at a Land Rover dealer... to give an idea of their major clientelle now, he said they'd regularly have Range Rovers traded in for new at a couple of years old and on coming to clean them out, several times they found Rolexes, gold chains and even bundles of cash left in them, forgotten about.

I guess if you buy £75k of car every couple of years, you might not notice losing £500 under your seat.

I use range rovers for work and where they cant go the 8x8 goes..new range rovers are a great way of taking cash off people and giving it to land rover. I have a 4.6 defender 90 and a 4.6 classic, both amazing motors and on proper american lpg kits not euro crapola. You can keep the range roony's, besides last time I went to buy one they wanted 75k for the new one I wanted, robbing dogs!

Got to say, when our Freelander goes, I'd have a Disco... Driven several and they are IMHO superb engineering.

The term "Chelsea Tractor" comes to mind.

I had a new shape vogue for a year or so, only went wading twice with water to the top of my 22's but went green laning a few times. Very capable off road but big tyres let them down in traction

My mates dad! and it's the v8 one. I see your point an don't get me wrong the sport has probably taken land rover well out of it's dated toff image and onto the high street but it should never have had the range rover badge on it! Personally I would have a new td5 defender. It's more uncomfortable than the rest in the range but it's just looks the nuts to me.

Take older models out of the equation, how many New Range Rovers (by new i mean since the RR sport was released) have you seen fording streams?

I was looking at these on the motorway yesterday, and I don't see a better motorway vehicle around. speed, comfort and a great driving position, be it a sport or a vogue.

Do they do one with a flat bed?
