I am replacing the heater matrix in the S2, I have removed everything but I still can't pull the unit out. The 2 x 10mm bolts in the bay are undone too, it wiggled but it won't come out. I have looked at acidburn's guide but I still can't figure it - anyone have any ideas?
Cheers
Simon
You might leave the S2 fold every so often - but you'll always come back!
it should come out ok with the bolts released- I also found it helped to totally unclip the part of the ducting that houses the blower motor- some of the clips round the back can be a bit akward but def come off. You'll then have 2 bits - the blower motor housing/ ducting and the heater matrix box with all the flaps etc. I left all the other ducting for the vents connected to the underside of the dash, it just slipped back onto the top of the heater box when putting it back in.
I definitely requires a good bit of wiggling around to get it out but it should come!
Good luck, and what a pain of a job!. Did they build the car around the heater matrix do you think?
thats right there is one that looks correct but actually isnt one of the two that you need to undo! the second one you need to undo is lower down the bulkhead from what i remember.
And yeah make sure the pollen filter section is well detached as it does need to move about a good bit, think its 2 more bolts to get the pollen filter housing off.
