Anybody know the Nogaro blue RS2 for sale at Gmund Cars?

    Hey guys,
I'm trying to move forward with purchasing and importing a fine example of a Nogaro blue RS2 to Australia. Not living in Rngland and being unable to physically inspect vehicles it makes it very risky.
Has anyone physically seen or know of the history or true condition of the Nogaro blue RS2 for sale at Gmund Cars? (Link below.)

    http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2193635.htm

I notice it's been for sale for quite a long time. I'm just trying to avoid being stung and ending up with a dud vehicle and losing lots of money.

If anybody has any information it would be greatly appreciated. Or if somebody that is mechanically certified could inspect it for me and emsil me a full report I would be more than happy to pay them for it?

    Any responses would be appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Jean-Yves

Probably just the price that's stopped it selling - can't say though, so I'll leave it for anyone else to, if they know the history.

It's actually just up the road from me. Might be worth talking to Rob (GT500) - he's a good mechanic locally and could probably give you a good inspection. Otherwise, there's a few of us locally - I'm sure someone could at least give it a sanity check for you.

Alternatively, there's the RAC or the AA who do paid checks. They're not specialists on older Audis, but they'll check all the standard stuff.

Even though it's low miles Price is way too high which is why it hasn't sold, the price is the same or more than an RS4

Yeah, that was what I was thinking. Although they do seem to be going up recently (RS2s) and as there's less around each consecutive year, it gets harder to say.

It's a cliche, but it's worth what someone will pay for it!

It only looks a few grand north of where the price should really be IMO. It does look very clean and tidy. There are a few tatty RS2's about now that would cost a fortune to get looking mint again. IMO

                Hi Jean-Yves
How are you planning on importing it to Oz? Are you across the importation rules for private vehicles into Oz?
You need to keep and use the car outside Oz for 12 months and be able to prove via passport etc that you have in order to apply for import approval. I don't think you can import through the REVS or RAWS as it is post 1989 build.
Interested to know what your plans are.
                Cheers

                      Hi Karl,

After many weeks, I and another gentleman just had the RS2 added to the SEVS Register, as Mouse pointed out.

We've been trying not to let the cat out of the bag mate. A little too late for that now I guess.

Yes, as I'm sure you;re aware, in order to import one you must go through a RAWS and it's quite a lengthy and costly process. But we have full approval so let us know if you or anybody else may be interested in obtaining one?

On the scale of a mint rs2 i recon you would be better of getting a late plate s2 and turning it into a rs2..

Although i say that and i well i have done it and i have only had 1 s2 an one rs2.

I still feel guilty for selling beesie because it needed more work. Although for the price i sold it for and the fact it got somebody all the way home i feel well a little bit proud..lol. ( i hope it lives a while longer it did give me tingles..) The joys of s2s.

I'm guessing it'd have to be a bona fide RS2 for them to import it under SEVS?
