    Car transport

Can anyone recommend a good company (not too expensive) for car transporting. Will need to get mine moved from Longcross near Chertsey to Dover in the next couple of weeks. Rough prices would be helpful.
    Many thanks in advance.

Hire a transit low loader. A mate did that to get his car back. Cost roughly £70 I think

This is what I am doing for a living these days. For that job I would probably charge about £100. But it is way way out of my way and I am not down that way often enough to say I would do it.

What sort of transport are you looking for? I have a single vehicle transporter so it is a personalised service, car is delivered direct door to door and only loaded and unloaded once.
Others have multi vehicle transporters, your car could be loaded and unloaded up to 10 times anywhere in the country. It could be loaded on the bottom tier and take damage either from falling parts or fluids dripping from the car above.

£70 plus fuel, and an insurance excess if you cause any damage to either the truck or your car when you are loading it, and there is every possibility that someone doing it for the first time may make that mistake. or not strap it down correctly etc etc.

I'm afraid I have no AA/recovery at the moment. I need to get the car from the paint shop to the tuner where the engine is. Not too sure AA would cover that?
Will ask around a little and look into SHiply.
                  Cheers

Shiply is great you sit there and watch the price keep coming down & you don't have to accept any of them if you don't like it!!

I run a car transport company (driver delivery or bulk loads 10/13 cars etc) and for single moves like this, we always use Shiply.
                        Best way to outsource work.
If you can be flexible on times and dates for collection and delivery, you will more often than not get a very cheap price for someone using it as a back working/return load, as opposed to running back empty.
Don't accept the first offer. Sit tight for between 12 and 24 hours and then accpet the offer based on price and feedback, not just the cheapest.
Always nice to know that someone who's done this before and has a good reputation for doing so, is moving your pride and job, especially given what you've already gone through with this car!!
A few pound cheaper to be collected by a cowboy is false economy in my book.
As featured by the BBC, Sunday Times & Daily Telegraph. Hassle free courier services with Shiply. Save time and money when customer rated courier companies compete for your work.

btw, I'll quite happily drive it anywhere for free when you get her fully up and running!!

I use shiply as a transport provider myself. Peeves me off a bit when someone gets a very cheap bid then expects the car to be delivered on their terms. Beggars can't be choosers.

Apart from my wee moan it is decent but do look out. there is a guy who bids for trade plate delivery, what he doesnt tell you is on top of that bid he charges for fuel. Or another guy I seen who was only insured to the value of £2000. So read the feedback but ask some questions and look at the providers profile.
