    Heads up!

    Nylon washers
Need I say more, oh go on then.

Refurbed front S/F over winter por 15, the full works, poly bushes.
    Also F/W/bones with powerflex bushes.

Today I got round to fitting S/F and bones. The job has been done but it could of been easier, so anybody who might be doing this in the future listen in.

When painting S/F don't thicken up the area with paint where the bones attach because you will need all the room you can get when squeezing the nylon washers in between bushes and S/F.
The metal sleeve that runs through bushes should poke out exactly the same amount on both sides this allows the nylon washer some anchorage as you tap the bone into S/F. Also Mr Nugents suggestion of some grease to hold washer in place works well.

Just some simple measures but by doing this I think it should make things easier.

It's as tight as a nun's BUSH in there.

You might think it's as tight as a Nun's bush in there but the problem I've found is the play between the subframe hole for the 'bush bolt and the bolt itself - especially the Audi waisted bolts as it lets the wishbone slop around. I changed my bolts for regular 10mm non waisted bolts to cure this and used lockwashers.

hmm, John has it made a big difference and would that also be the case with solid bushes? Just ordered replacements from audi today and i guess they will be waisted.

I've got to add in the washers to my wishbones as its something that I didn't do when trialling the wishbones up on the urq as I knew they'd be off again.

Is the different bolts better then and still retain strength?
