    Adjusting Coupe side windows

I have just replaced the complete drivers window mech on my B4 coupe. Before I replaced these I had no leaks whatsoever from this door.
I replaced the shims/spacers behind the mounting bolts as they came on my old window frame. Since then I have moved these around but still cannot get a seal like it was before

Any tips or the correct procedure to remedy this would be greatly appreciated.

My door seal is in excellent condition and my door sealing pieces are brand new

    Cheers, Chris
For what this cost me so far I could have bought an S2

For something which is so commonly replaced on coupes I cannot believe no-one has any words of advise

I've fiddled with it and moved spacers from one location to another but its still not right

Thicker or multiple shims is the way to go.

Takes a few hours and lots of patience I'm afraid
Gently pour water around the window to check for leaks and when your happy with it, take it for a spin to check for wind noise before putting the door back together.

Did I give you a box of shims when you picked the frame up?
If not I'll pop them in the post for you if you need more

yup, trial and error unfortunately... the window mech is adjustable in 4 ways - the thickness of the spacer shims, the up-down and front-back movement of the bolts and also the window glass itself is adjustble on the cables.. plus the cables are adjustable in terms of tension, and also the door can be adjuasted in two directions too have fun!

Swear or hit something, it won't help but it might make you feel better.
