    Your longest non-stop drive?

Whats your longest non-stop drive? (not inc fuel stops)

I drove from north germany to south france yesterday and by the end the trip computer was flashing 16. So it was over 16 hours with only stopping for fuel.

I know Stu managed a 32 hour stint once when we delivered a car to germany but that included 2, 2 hour ferry stops.....

Would be interesting to know what others have done..

I assume this is the longest non-stop drive? I've done 12hr on - 12hr off - 12hr on from Indiana to Idaho, also 22 hours straight from San Diego, California to an hour east of San Antonio, Texas in a pick-up truck with a mate. Next day we went to Pensacola, Florida and then up to Kentucky the following day...

Hants to Chamonix, French Alps, usually a 4am start and arrive later afternoon local time. About 750 miles with stops for fuel and food mainly on the go

Probably driving back from the South of France. Setting off at around 4am and getting home to Leeds pretty late in the day.

Either that, or Leeds to the 'ring... but the reason that was so long was because of a huge break waiting around and wasting time before the ferry.

Honestly, I wouldn't want to do it again - driving that tired is just dangerous. You think you're fine, but you don't realise that you're taking micro-sleeps of a few seconds at a time. Doesn't take many seconds at 80mph to end up upside down.

Shared the driving non stop from Enstone, Oxfordshire via channel tunnel to Jerez, Spain in a Renault Master van.

I forget how long exactly it took. On the way there was fine but the drive back was hellish - driving all night in snow down winding mountain roads with lorries overtaking me. I don't know whose idea it was to take the A4 but it was a bad one.

          A good trip though.

Also this year drove from South West Rocks NSW to Melbourne Victoria in Australia with an overnight stop about half way. 19 hours in two days in a campervan!

38 hours from Baghdad to Da Hoek (Turkish border) and then down to Al Basrah (South Iraq near Kuwait) to deliver 78 tons of C4 and then to recover a downed vehicle, before returning to Baghdad. Fun times!

Repeated that type of trip many times over 5 years (2004-2009). To be fair the adrenaline kept us awake.

Durham to Belper( old faithful 80tdi) Then to Dover Calais, Jabbeke Belgium, Bonn Germany, Hook of Holland, Harwich, Belper( MAN horsebox no tacho). Back to Durham (80tdi). With a few wrong turns here and there. No sat nav. Around 1400 miles we did get our heads down on the ferry back from Holland. The conversations on a long road trip are the best .

you delivered 78 tones of C4! I guess its not as dangerous as moving something like TNT but 78 tons! that would have quite a blast yield if it got detonated in one go!

                    Yeah Bo,

Strange but true, sadly the big cash came with big risk.
All the C4 was being used to destroy the IEDS by the EOD guys around Iraq following the war. Some big bangs all day long!

Snap, although in the opposite direction!

La Rochelle to the lake district in the UK, about 15 hours including the tunnel IIRC. Probably a bit short of 1100 miles though.

Nothing that impressive but I've done Brecon in South Wales to Helmsdale in North Scottland in a T4 van. Also done Brecon to Kinlochewe Northan Scottland again in my 2.3 10V Coupe. Both are @600 miles and took about 12hrs.
