It's best to replace this flexi as the tube in it is only 1" in diameter and to me it's highly restrictive, had mine replaced with a 2" flexi although on a standard installation you would want a 1.5 or 1.75 install.

Just had a quick look at mine at i 'think' it is the wrong way around hopefully its the reason mine makes an odd sound, mine certainly has no performance issues though,so in theory swapping it around can only make it quicker, nice one Mark

No need if you don't have overboost issues. Also, the bigger boost you use the smaller pipe(and WG) you need.

This appears to be a common fault, I've come across several wastegate flexi's in my time fitted the wrong way round, It creates quite violent surge like stuttering at high boost levels with big turbo's in the mid range. So most likely the same is happening to a lesser effect on the smaller turbo's which is then the sound you are hearing.

You will find if fitted the wrong way round you will also see a marked increase in EGT's due to the excessive restrictive nature caused by the turbulance. Sort of thought it was common knowledge that the arrow was there for flow direction, apparently not!

is this arrow always as in the picture in the first post or we can see it in other forms also.

I placed this pipe further down the downpipe and i can see it clearly. I found something that looks like a "Thick" arrow but not sure.

                  Sorry for the crappy pic.
