I lad that I play squash with, his dad has a C5 RS5 and he reckons that my S2 feels as quick if not quicker than his dads car! (His dad doesn't hang about either btw)

I'm sticking with my mapped S2 for now.

That blue one but painted misano red and without the carbon roof plus a manual gearbox and you have my dream car the noise of them alone would make paying the big bills bearable

My dad has one, a c5 Misano Red avant, he's the second owner and bought it with 3,000 miles on the clock in 2005.

DRC suspension will fail if it's not been replaced (most have)

He actually drives a C63 Estate now but can't bear to sell the RS6. It's justr such a brilliant comfortable and practical car that happens to be very quick and full of character. It has a MTM remap to 495bhp.

Apparantly the gearbox is suspect and may go eventually.

It currently has 98,000 miles. The reason he doesnt drive it is that repair bills were getting large for a daily driver and his mileage

I managed to "borrow" it quite often, and it's just awesome for long journeys.

Feeling it kick down as you re engage cruise control on the motorway is something else. The engine is a flexible peach of a thing!

Can be driven surprisingly hard round corners too. The brakes are great, very powerfull but with great modulation. Best seats ever too, and that nice alcantara headlining.

I drove it to Le Mans last year and reached 140 with 5 people on board on the circuit just after it closed!

Epic car, but big bills for bushes, brakes, boost valves, tyre pressure sensors etc etc.

I think the engine has been fine though (touches wood) We just don't know how long the gearbox will last...

Cheers mate!! sounds like DRC and gearbox are defo the main issues with these fine cars and to be honest even though they're coming up to 7-8 years old there values have dropped quite a bit in the last 6 months, am guessing the money you save from the purchase price should defo go towards maintainence!!!!
