    Inspection lamps?

I'm looking at Sealey's rechargeable with magnets for attachment. Used to have cable one, and it chewed up real quick

    What's everyone using.

    Thanks for any advice.

I have a collection of them as i have no garage to work in. Couple of big halogen lights to light up the drive way and around the car, a big LED floor standing unit that works great for lighting up under the car, or hang in the engine bay as it dosent produce any heat.

A collection of small magnetic LED lights that are useful for sticking to suspension and engine bay for the fiddly stuff. Also have one of those long tube style LED lights as it tends to get into places others wont.

Call me old fashioned but my favorite is the old school inspection light with a 60w light bulb in it, i just find them much easier to see with vs LED lighting. Downside is heat which my melted wheelie bin lid proves. And fragile should you drop or kick it by accident.

Basically no short answer, depends on what im working on and how restricted access is. None of mine are any brand you have ever heard of, all cheap made in china stuff. The magnetic jobbies i got in a pound shop for pocket change, and are probably the most useful. Even carry one in the glovebox for emergencys.

A friend swears by the miner style LED lights that have an elastic strap around your head, never tried them myself but they make sense in theory as they light up whatever your looking at.

ring make a 60w reinforced bulb for inspection lamps, much better than a standard bulb
you can kick it and it won't blow.

Machine mart sell a pretty good magnetic LED lamp, bright as **** and batteries last for ages, I know as i left it on for 5 days and it was still glowing when i found it, albeit pretty dimly!

Great Link, like the Philex one with a fluorescent tube, much thinner than mine. ...might have to add a couple more to the collection now, at least they are cheap

I'm going to try LED, see if it's upto the job.
I've got plenty of tubes around the walls for overall lighting, but the LED's for more direct light.
Thanks for all suggestions as ever.
