insurance wise he may have a trade policy so makes no odds to the engine size. but he is obviously paying cheaper tax and finally its vile

I spent a long time in the vauxhall scene where there are more 2l 16v novas and corsas than standard ones, I'd probably say more than half are atleast taxed as no more than a 1.6, most start their lives as 1.2's and stay taxed and insured as one through ownership. I've seen loads for sale with a similar advert to that one of the escort.

Mine with 244hp was 660 to insure, all mods declared so hardly a lot of money, same as the avant was from memory. I was 25 by then though and 28 when I had the avant.

Back when I was 17 a twin carbed nova sr was 750 to insure, again with all mods declared, I know of kids now that can't insure a stock 1.2 Corsa for less than 1200! How times change eh.

I can't say I agree with but I can't seem them stopping anyone from doing it, not unless they start really coming down on people at cruises as we all know a lot of the cars at those aren't what they should be.

A lot of the b16/b18 swapped civics are also still on the logbook as 1.5s for tax/insurance, and advertised as this being a bonus!
