Can Bus

Hi guys, never had to deal with this before. I have done a fair bit of reading all about it and wondered if anyone had done the following before.

I am using an engine with Can Bus feed to the instrument cluster, however I will not be using the original cluster so is there any way to pull the tacho signal somehow to run a standard type rev counter gauge?

In older cars the speedo gets the rev signal from the ECU.
If the ECU you are using does not have a such output, then you will need some sort of device that will sit on the CAN bus and generate one for you.
No idea if that can be bought OOB or not.

Otherwise you will need a dash that supports CAN bus.
