recovering a formatted RAID NAS disk

some dipstick (ahem!) did a factory reset on the company's Netgear NAS server/hard drive and lost ALL the data. recovered most of it from other sources but could do with recovering the rest. willing to pay ££ if there's any experts out there???

There is plenty of good diy software out there, just have a search on google and im sure you will find something good enough.

A lot of the programs will do a virtual recovery to show you what they can recoup before charging you.

Saves sending it all off anyway.

Make sure the disks are not being used as any write access will obviously aid to reduce the data that you can recover.

For future its worth having a backup disk that runs daily backups plugged in too, that way this happening again wont be such a prob

cheers Bo - was looking at that option - seems I have to physically remove the disks and plug them into a desktop pc so that its direct access - haven't found software that will do it over the network.....yet.....will keep looking

I have used http://www.runtime.org/raid.htm for pc raid 0,1 and http://www.runtime.org/nas-recovery.htm for nas raids
        to good effect.

You will have to plug them into a pc in this case, but since they are sata most likely, all you need is a few cheap cables.
