I'd say the threads that I enjoy the most on the forum, are the projects, it's great to see the transformation, the before & after photos as mods, upgrades & repairs take shape. I've done a few cars but my way is quite mild, keeping things oem, just a bit of a tidy up really. I stripdown, clean - repair or replace broken bits & bobs. The end result is presentable but not in anyway a show winner. None of them have had full re-sprays as I feel the little dents, scratches etc are part of the cars history

Hope this is ok with the forum cos it aint an S2, but it is VAG though & there will be many photo’s as I have a digital now. So onto the project; I bought this car cheap with the idea of breaking it for parts, but as it came with some tax & mot I have been running about in it - fatal ! as now I want to tidy it up & keep it on the road.. It's a 1986 VW Passat (saloon) 1.8 GL - It looks, drives & smells like a bag of 5hite, hence the title. No time scale on this, just as time & money will allow ???

Yeah - everything is a bit tired on it, just a case of doing bits at a time - the Pierberg carb is 1st priority as it idles high, & then runs on after being switched off, it also back fires I'll be posting up as each job is done
