Diff Seals

Just bought a new off side diff seal from my local Audi dealer.

They told me the part is now listed as obsolete with 3 remaining at the factory, one of which I have bought, leaving only 2.

I appreciate that there are probably other sources for this part as I can't believe it is a one off especially made for Audi, but if you are after an OEM part, then it looks like supply is short. Unless of course they are telling me porkies, which wouldn't be the first time !!

if they are going obsolete its yet another ****ing disgrace on behalf of Audi and VAG. Clearly this is a part which is in demand. That fact it costs a small fortune means there is margin in it for them, even if they were to get a small volume re manufactured. That leaves only one reason why they might stop supplying them, and that is that they simply don't give a ****
