    Clutch Bother

Since getting my S2 back in April, the clutch has always been heavy and the biting point very low.

I have read a few write ups on clutch problems but all seem to be confined to friction plate wear and associated high biting point which is the opposite to what I have !

Any ideas what the problem is ?

If the opinion is that the clutch needs replacing where can a get a SACHS kit from ?

I have read on here that they are recommended.

    Thanks.

If your clutch is heavy then it is likely that it needs changing.
The low biting point in my experience (on my ABY coupe) could mean one of either:
Your master cylinder shaft is bending due to the heavyness of your clutch.
Or like on my car the plastic end on your slave cylinder shaft is split, effectively meaning your slave shaft is shorter and needs to extend further to operate the clutch.

Low bite is generally a problem in the release mechanism, worn out master/slave cyl, or even in dire need of a bleed. I vote 3rd line too, very common problem.
