There was one on gumtree but the owner has decided to keep it! I was due to go and see it this morning if the first person in the queue didn't buy it. Wondered if anyone one here was one of the many other callers?

I didn't see the advert but reading throught the posts on ClassicAudi, I am not convinced it was an S6plus. Chrome grill = not. Not completely blackened trim = not. There were UrS6 V8 sedans so I imagine that there could have been UrS6 V8 avants. The comment about the colour being exclusive to the S6plus like the Nogaro blue, is BS. I think there are S2forum members here with late run UrS6 avants in Nogaro blue. This image is from an article about a Nogaro blue UrS6 avant (not an S6plus even though the trim would make you think it was):
RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan
94 UrS4 V8 6 spd manual avant
EDIT: I assumed that the pics above were from the advert, my mistake. I would like to see a forum user getting it however being a LHD I'd expect it to be exported to realise it's true value.

No that is from a 1997 (96?) VW Audi Car magazine article about the last of the UrS6s.
As for the S6plus instrument cluster colours, blue was common but they were also available in black and grey. The telltale was the 300 kph max (instead of 280) and the S6plus decal on the tach instead of the S6 decal.

With respect to the my post on Classic Audi re. Nogaro Blue, I stated it was available only on the S6 Plus and the late run '97 Model Year S6 (Plus spec) 2.2T run out models. Also it seems that I was correct in identifying it as a genuine S6 Plus.So not BS after all? There was a previous post on Classic Audi about S6s with the Plus spec. http://www.classic-audi.co.uk/forum/...ad.php?t=20401

I don't know if I saw *your* comment of Classic Audi or not. When I said "BS" to Nogaro = S6plus only, I was referring to Kenquattro's comments:
"It has the dechrome, although the grille trim is chrome (could have been replaced at some time). The Misano Red paint is the big giveaway, unique to the S6 Plus, as was Nogaro Blue. Also is sat on Plus alloys, not the standard S6 4.2 ones, but again they may have been added. 1996 was the year the Plus was introduced. Would be interesting to know for sure." http://www.classic-audi.co.uk/forum/...t=20525&page=2

Misano red was not unique to the S6 Plus, i've been and looked at a couple Misano red S6 (Estates 1996-7 year) They had the Plus spec but were 2.2T engines.
