Did anyone else see the S6 Plus on gumtree

Misano red was not unique to the S6 Plus, i've been and looked at a couple Misano red S6 (Estates 1996-7 year) They had the Plus spec but were 2.2T engines.

Thank you for that. Now what is really interesting, in this list of S6plus colours that I found, there is no "Misano" red, just tornado red. (But the rs-blue pearl effect, aka "Nogaro" is there). Regardless, the way to tell a real S6plus is a) V8 (and AHK at that) and b) more importantly WUA at the start of the vehicle indentification number on the scuttle edge.



Not like this 98 C4 A6 avant (my DD) but similar, with WUA...:



The list of S6plus engine numbers by date so you could numbers match the engine to the car (at least match the build month):

On my car in the Deuch serviceplanbook it says WUA... But in my Swedish papers it says WAU.

Well after looking at that, my apologies. I was obviously ill informed.

I would guess that somebody not aware of the role quattro Gmbh played in the manufacture of the S6plus might have thought the WUA was a typo and "thoughtfully" corrected it to "WAU" during the registration process. As long as you have "WUA" stamped on the scuttle, the providence is good.

The only issue *might* come is if you are paying insurance based on Audi S6 WAU and not S6plus WUA, i.e. the S6plus being rarer should command a higher insurance rating. If there was an insurance claim, there might be an issue that you didn't pay the correct premium/fee.

Seeing the VIN, I was going to tell you what month the car was built in. However, now my head hurts because your numbers don't match this list:



The only explanation I would have is it really should be 000622, built in Dec. 1996.
