    ATE parts

Anyone have experience with ATE parts. I have read that they supply OEM parts.

Are they worth using to save money over factory parts?

Only thing i have used are 323mm A8 disks (rotors to you ). Not the best item to judge quality but cant fault them really, have a coating to stop rust, haven't warped, and seem to be pretty durable.

They make the OEM calipers for some BMWs.
Like above i have no bad experiences with their discs, although i have removed some rear ATE pads from a golf before and they were in a shocking way!! Large parts of the friction material on one pad had chipped off, and the other the whole block of friction material fell of the backing plate when i removed the pad from the car. These pads were probably quite old, but not something i would expect to happen IMHO.

Alfred Teves, Praunheim - a suburb of Frankfurt. Around thirty years ago, a good customer of mine.

They actually MAKE quite a lot of the factory parts - they're a well-respected "Zulieferant" in the German auto industry.

Thanks for the info... Ate is 180 USD less than the cheapest Audi version of a brake master cylinder I want.

I think I will order the Ate.

            Guy,

FWIW, I'd happily use ATE parts, over Audi branded parts, assuming the Audi parts are dearer, as i'm sure they will be in all cases.
