    Ammyy microsoft scam calls

Just spoke to my dad who has received one of these calls from people purporting to be microsoft and trying to get you to install remote access software onto your PC. I assume mainly for identity theft, or installation of other malware.

Just thought id warn other members

I had this too recently from a Yank in a call centre. I Let the guy go on for 10 mins and then told him I work in IT and knew he was attempting to scam me. He was quite polite and told me I was right and hung up

They'll put malware on your PC, take credit card details to remove it and then continue to scam you if they can.

The world if full of t*ats

They try this with me once a month or so!

'I see a red light fashings - please to tell me you are windows product registerings right?'

          Yup

'Ok, I needings you to click on the start button'

          Wheres that?

'It is down the bottom left of screen'

          Oh, I cant see it...

          ...

20 or 30 minutes - depending on how bored...

All i see is an apple logo - is that it?

          'Oh yes thats it'

You said you are from Microsoft?

'Yes I am also from Apple'

          Ok what now?

          'I need you to...'

OK - do I need to do this on my Linux computer too?

          'Yes please'

          Ok

          ... 10 minutes ...

You do realise I have a degree in IT? I know you are trying to steal information from my computer?

'YOU ARE WASTINGS MY TIMES! YOU CANNOT DO THIS'

          Think I just have scumbag!

God these people annoy me but they are fun when you are bored. I really feel for those who don't know any better.

I can imagine it now, an hour or so later, you mention that the system they think they are getting you to mess with is actually a games console.

I dont get so many calls but alot of emails from scammers got me looking for ways to waste their time

                  This amused me

If i could id fedex a hornets nest to he or she who keeps mailing me about f***** wheel balancers, that ive never owned.

I totally agree though, if your bored then do waste their time because it'll hold them up trying to find someone who will fall for it.
