    a question of weight

    Afternoon all,
1st post here after hanging around absorbing the most helpful info ever seen in any forum I've read...
I had a crappy ABK 2.0 coupe for a long while ( well, it didnt leak, could do 125mph and never broke down so not that crappy ) but now got a CQ20v 1991 for some months ( cheers Pete, cracking deal, great bodywork on this..local petrol station love me too !! ).

I think I have the measure of this car ( yeah right you will say ! ) but need to know if anyone can kindly assist :
Whats the Front/rear axle weight ( its got aircon BTW and is the later non tubular manifold... got one to fit but not just yet ) ?
I ask cos I noticed KW advertise 2 different makes of the V1 suspn kit ( thats with the M12 bolts ) ...one says 950-950 Rear/Front...the other is 950-1100 R/F.....surely aircon aint that much difference ??
The only thing I can think of is the difference between the 10v (NG) and the 20v (7A ) on the CQ .
I know that 3Bs are lighter than ABYs...so where does the 7A come on the scale ? Heavier than NG but lighter than 3B ? Surely it cant be 1100kg front axle..or is it ?

( I'm gonna take off the aircon soon as poss ..doesnt work and I've never been warm enough in any car for aircon...thats what the sunroofs for innit ? ( or is it there to drip on my head and fill the footwells ??!! )
The 'how to take out the aircon from engine bay' is a Q for another day , I've bored you enough with this query...anyone know ? and thx again to many of the ++ informed people on the site for answers to +++ Qs I found while scavenging.

CQ20v is about 1440kg IIRC, I'd recon on 850-900 on the front axle

900 on the front axle when I weighed my 3b, (with some lightening). I got to about 1330 without going nuts, still a lot of stuff could be removed.

Weights according to S2 central (kg)

        3b 1420
        ABY coupe 1525
        ABY avant 1560
        Current-2004 Impreza PPP wagon

In the real world its closer to 1500kg. As per thread below add 100kg for an ABY, and another 100kg for an avant..

Many thanks for the informative replies...I will be removing aux rad and as much stuff as possible to lose a bit of weight....fore/aft balance cant be good if front end can be as much as 100 or more kg more than rear ...specially with the nose heavy engine position. BTW I read once ( in Motorgeeks )that somone was thinking of increasing the front castor by adjusting the wishbones , to give more stability etc...but thats a thought for a long time in the future if at all..gotta fit my homemade/German 034 style injector conversion 1st, bag of snakes, then remap...sorry, gotta fix that leak 1st by masking tape process of elimination !!
              Thanks again.

The front rear balance is nuts, mine was 900kg fr 430kg rear, that was low fuel and the back stripped out though.

                  maybe

owners manual quotes the CQ20v unladen wet weight as 1320kg, that'll be a non-sunroof car with manual everything.

That might refer to whether it's small or large bore struts and M12 or M14 strut bolts.
