3 car seats in the back of an RS2...can it be done?
3 car seats in the back of an RS2...can it be done?
Today it was made official that Ross and I are expecting our 3rd baby (in 3 years!) and now I can finally put the question to the fathers on the forum! 3 car seats....will they fit in a RS2, RS6, any Audi for that matter?
Come on lads, there's a few on here with lots of youngsters, what is the best car for having 3 car seats?
In my opinion of a guy with no kids is as follows. Ross go and buy that TTRS or what ever two seater you have always wanted. Laurel, you are getting a mini bus hehehehe!
I should imagine that 3 kid seats in the back of an avant is going to be tight but not impossible as after all it is a car with 5 doors and 3 seats in the back.
So the question is who keeps getting who drunk????
The 97-04 A6 has space for 3, depending upon size of seat, it was better than my wife's current 2007 A6. 2.7 Bi-Turbo petrol is fun and quick. Never managed to get 3 in the back of my RS2.
honestly.....my family hack is a diesel zafira! So easy to drive, proper lazyboy and does 52mpg and i paid £1200 for it.Its nice not having to struggle putting my 10month old in as its obviously higher up.
Top tip also is to get an elegance model as sad is it sounds the front seats fold down,so I can change laddo's bum on the back of it as its like a bench
Know what you mean, I have a 23 year old Espace too that is great for the family, chuck in everything and go. It happens to be good enough to show and even earns its keep occasionally in films!
Vw sharan, room for our 3 nutters, they can be split up so don't fight!
Room for 3 bikes too, or take all the seats out for a van size area
Tdi can be tuned like any other, 350 ftlb!
This is why I wanted to stop at 2, bit late for that now though
Sooo, a relief that it's not twins, else that would have been a 7-seater for sure! It does mean that my plan to have the RS2 as the family car isn't going to work
Just to confirm, Laura drives the Golf TDi, not the RS2 - i got an insurance quote for a laugh, £3800
I was looking at a 520d for Laura once she's got a few more months on the road - added benefit of an economy family option too. I've read up on this and the only BMW option for 3 child seats is the X5, not going to happen... Audi, it's the Q7 or the C5 A6 - I found a few reviews that state the C5 A6 platform will fit 3 full-size car seats. Otherwise there's the VW Touran, Ford S-Max, Honda FRV, Zafira...
I was put off going for something big until Laura has a bit more experience. That said, we could keep the Golf on until she's comfortable with whatever the replacement is, she can put one of the kids in the front for day-time shopping trips etc.
So far my thinking has gone Touran - S-Max - Touran - C5 RS6 - C5 3.0Q A6 - C5 RS6 - Landrover Discovery 3 - C5 S6 - Disco 3
I love the idea of keeping something that looks / feels like a car, ideally it should be economical though it won't cover many miles so not essential... if I'm going to go functional 7-seat I do love the idea of the Discovery but it's massive and at the moment a bit more than I'd want to spend. Also have no idea about how they are to maintain, could be a nighmare
RS6 is a bit of a pipe dream, I am tempted to take a punt with an S6 but it sounds like they aren't much cheaper to run 2.0 sounds sensible but then they're about the same price...
