Come on lads, there's a few on here with lots of youngsters, what is the best car for having 3 car seats?

    Let the discussion commence...
No... The earliest it becomes (safely) possible is when one (at least) moves to a booster seat as the centre belt is a two point rather than a three point which will be minimum requirement for all toddler seats... Baby Seats will also need three point attachments.

With the small age gap you might be in for a couple of years when the RS2 won't work, but seriously, don't despair, because it will come back to you... I promise.

        In my Coupé

I have not measured but I have a feeling that the back seat of a CQ/S2 is wider since it does not have to accommodate rear doors, moving windows, etc. It does seem that legroom is common between sedan and coupe but I don't have access to a Avant

Anyway, my kids are about 2yrs apart so, most commonly, I am running our 4 yr old to school while the twins are home; so that is easy. If you can survive until they are all safe to face forward the options for narrow seats are better; expensive, but cheaper than another car!

It will be a while till my twins swap forward (they are on the small side) but given that the two RF seats fit with that huge Recaro I'm sure that 3FF will be fine. The angle of the seat back is not perfect for some FF seats and fitting 5 with 2 RF seats is a tight fit (I'm 6'2" and could not drive for a long distance that way).

In the end, ~70% of the time I'm solo and ~20% its me +1 4yr old so the CQ works fine.

Jep, CQ should be the widest.

This is what I like to hear! But 3 kids covered by 21 months?? Ours will be 38 months and I thought that was quite a feat... unless you've got the multiple wives thing going on in which case how do you surive that and even more

As for the Limo..... sounds great but the neighbours would complain when I take the whole side of the street to park it

3 front facing in a CQ! You can see how huge the Recaro is, lol!!! 3 of the Radian's are ~52" which is about the width available in a CQ. Also, notice that the Radian does not hang over the front of the seat.

As a secondary car it does just fine! I can take everyone shopping if necessary. Our 2 seat stroller will fit in the hatch, with parcel shelf, but does not leave room for much else. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to say it would be great as a primary family hauler Maybe with a hitch and roof rack!

We also have a Honda Pilot which is the choice when we need more space.

Just in case anyone is interested in how this ended.... just picked this up tonight, I'm expecting to sell my spare kidney to run it for a year!

On a plus - it has recently had brakes, IC's, oil coolers, turbo's, coilovers, and has had annual gearbox services since a warranty replacement 50k ago. So hopefully it won't bankrupt me. Plan is to keep it for 1-2 years, this is definitely not a replacement for the RS2!
