Just wanted to give a BIG 'Thanks' to Rob @ RG Race Engineering (aka GT500).
Having sold my RS2 back in September, I recently managed to get myself a Nogaro RS4, but having got it home found that it was logging random misfires in VCDS when cold on cylinders 1,2 & 3.
We checked all the usual suspects, plugs, coils, ICM's, but after these made no difference the thoughts going through my mind were worn exhaust camshafts, which is a common problem. Fears of a £1-2k bill were filling my head, however, Rob suggested a cam timing issue, and today having borrowed a cam locking tool, we confirmed his diagnosis.
The 'specialist' that had fitted the cambelt had marked the cam pulleys and back covers, but failed to line them up on Bank 1 when fitting the new belt, which was a tooth out (indicated below)

I think a few beers may be in order!!
