Doesn't have enough presence for me. I don't know whey they have stuck with the FSi V8. The blown V6 is the way forward. But I guess it was cheaper to pull it straight out the RS5. 317lbft is rather anemic.

im going with both. One of these and my S2. Like I said its to subtle for an RS4 but wouldnt turn one down if it was given to me.

Using a slightly updated version of the heavily critizised and manifold pressure challenged NA V8 is another disgrace to the RS badge. Slow in stock form, pathetic after 20K when it is all carboned up.
A hopped up version of the I5 used in the TT RS or the supercharged 3.0 would have been a much better choice. The new turbocharged M3 is going to make mincemeat out of the B8 RS4.
Why is the old kings of turbocharging, Audi, insisting on using NA engines when those who really knew how to do NA (BMW) went to FI. Ridiculous.

                        rs4

i had a rs4 b7 for 5 months , sounded great , 21 k on clock , was happy with car until i went head to head with old m3 cab 340bhp mod an he left me after 80mph.
car went staight up for sale after finding out common problem with losing power approx 380bhp, and to fix design fault upwards of £3000k. took a rs2 in px just over one year ago, much quicker and more fun to drive, spent some money to get it to look this good and run properly but well worth it!

317lbft :mischeif: don't think this will trouble a C63 AMG Estate with 480bhp and 443lbft with an engine note to die for.

No 4wd yes, but the C63 is just such a fun car thats full of character. (my father has the estate version and used to have a C5 RS6 Avant)

DSG will help performance, but overall I have quite a lukewarn reaction to this.

I think a twin turbo 6 would be a better real world car.
