    most proffitable cars to break?

I have decided to make a living out of stripping cars as I have been made redundant.
I am not interested in opening a garage and would rather get a unit, buy a ramp and strip cars as it can be good money.
I would love to do it on S2's(i know them inside out) but this would be unlikely as they are rare as hens teeth as we all know.
So what cars would be the best? Maybe rare older cars?Or popular stuff like Fords/Vauxhall etc?

After the day i've had messing around with cars you might think its brilliant and you get loads from it but at the end of the month when you have bills to pay and nothings sold it gets a bit worrying. I have kept on my job and only mess with cars in my spare time as it helps pay for my projects, and tbh after today i'm seriously getting a bit bored of it.

Popular cars need more parts than older rare ones
But old rare ones bring more money, if lots of people are breaking the same cars then u have to undercut to sell.
You have to break lots quickly or get them very cheap once you consider transport, storage, premises, tools etc
Don't forget a waste carriers licence if you are transporting shells to weigh in, old bill round here n vosa are hot on no licences , guy in paper fined over £700 last week for not being licenced
I had to tot up what I made when ex b*tch sent csa on me
        I was in negative by about 3x the car(made sure I was,lol)

I hear the original A8s can be broken for a bit of money. The body is worth a bit especially. Would love to do it myself but I've no space to put a lot of car parts

Sorry to hear about redundancy. Good luck with the venture.

I reckon stick with Audi's for the moment as its what you know, then dabble with other cars as and when they come up. I would imagine that getting on as many different car owners sites as you can would be useful. Find out what car parts are fetching good money, and go from there.

After buying a 95 Audi 80 2.6 and breaking it, there seems to alway be people asking for cabriolet parts so that would be my first choice. Stick to what you know to start with (Audi)

                    Andy,

I agree with Acidburn. He's also speaking from a position of BTDT.

The novelty and how well you got on with the S2 might be distorting your vision. Easy to make money when you have no overheads, which as stated will not last.

Do try it for three months, but then look at having a job you like and do the parting out on the side to top your income to spend on your S2.

                    My tuppence.

                    Best wishes either way.

Don't let go of the missus.

If you're gonna do it IMO you need a niche ie Audi, BMW, Alfa or even a German or prestige specialist. Trouble with the people who break anything and everything is that they've never actually got what you want. However if you go to a specialist breaker of your marque, you're more likely to find what you're after. Nothing worse as a punter then calling around everywhere looking for the same part. I will always look for a specialist first!

Thought about the cabs myself not so much breaking them but buying cheap in winter taking lights + bumper swapping them out for standard 80 units and selling on in summer.
