A couple of weeks ago a Royal Mail parcel van hit the side of my coupe resulting in a dent to the drivers door
The driver of the mail truck (an agency driver) gave my work college a number to ring as I wasn't around. The number turned out to be false and after contacting the Royal Mail directly they admitted liability.
I was asked to provide a quote from a bodyshop as to the extent and costs of repairing the dent. The bodyshop I think got carried away and submitted a quote of £1150 to repair (new door, god knows where from and spray etc).
They obviously were not happy with the quote and sent an independent engineer out to look at my car. The guy came out and even checked the tread depth of all of tyres
Today they have sent me a letter : Dear Chris, your vehicle has been declared uneconomical to repair and as such a Cat C total loss with a pre accident value of £735, the salvage being valued at £110
In view of this we are prepared to offer £625 and the damaged vehicle will remain with you to dispose of accordingly !
Yours faithfully mr piss the postman :corey::corey:
Obviously I do not want my car to become a Cat C so is there anything I can do or is this a case of 'put up and shut up' ?

Is your insurance company involved or is it just between you and Royal Mail?
I just re read & noticed your signature - Most large fleets self insure & meet claims from their own pockets, as it were
i nearly let tem have it
