How many miles

Okay,

Probably a question thats been asked before or considered by most at some point....


A what mileage is an S2 / Ur Quattro 20V considered to be at the end of its life - ie worn out !!.

Now I know there are many variables such as quality and intervals of servicing and there are differing lifespans of the many components such as engine, gearbox and ultimately the bodyshell itself.

Anybody got any real life experiences they can share ??

Is a well maintained 220,000 miler got many more miles ahead of it ??

Chassis lasts about 50k, engine in an unstressed state can last way beyond 200k At this age, condition and history are more important than mileage IMO.

i'd say that the number of 15-20yr old cars on here running well on varying states of boost and fettling would suggest there is plenty of life left in these beasties

All depends as Rusty says on how well they have been looked after and evidence of that is crucial on these cars. They are very well built in the main but i would expect that anything rubber that hasnt been replaced should be, check for things which have been heat cycled thousands of times and therefore become brittle (aux electric water pump a prime candidate)
