The roof problems are commonly two:

Wires on the side of the boot lid (where the "scissors" leverage/hinges are located) that they're cracked it's the most common.

The roof works in a sort of jointventure with the boot lid.

For instance imagine that there's a safety feature that will not aloud the roof to open if your boot it's open, this because if the boot it's open the lid of the roof compartment will catch with it.
Now if a wire/cable it's interrupted then you'll have a no go for the roof to open (pump wirring but non movements)

The cables involved in the roof/boot jointventure are located on the right side (near side for you english I guess)
On the left side you have the taillights harness if and when you'll find problems with brakelights/reverse/etc etc then it's this harness to check.

I bougt on german ebay both harness made in silicone wires that are much better then the very rigid originals.

Other issue that I went trough it's the motor of the central locking dedicated to the boot lid, if this one does'nt work properly then you have troubles with the roof, but in this case (at least on my Cabbie) you'll find a part procedure to be performed by the system.

Roof start to open then the roof lid opens but everything stops there.

Another common fault it's the microswitches that are locate on the roof lid sides catches

A good source for troubleshhoting it's on this german website.

I use google translator to surf it and I found plenty of stuff diagrams/hints/suggestions and so on.

Everything I wrote above I found it in this website

    go this path:

    Audicabrio faq neu>verdecktechnik>audicabrio.

From there check all 18 guides you'll find all of them VERY interesting.

    Good luck!

Sounds like a nice easy fix on the engine Colesy. The starter is dead on mine, haven't had time to change it yet but its a pig of a job on the v6. My electric roof also doesnt work.

        Nice car, but you definately need to loose the eyebrow as it looks like;

Just fixed the hood on this, turned out that a sensor had come unplugged! Which was a nice easy fix, although it did take a fair while to locate the sensor.

The single eyebrow has been removed and it's looking like a decent set of wheels. I would love to keep it but I can't think of any time I'd rather drive it over the S2. Maybe if it was raining money...

Plus I could do with the funds to make a few more fixes/modifications to the S2. If I don't get a good firm offer for the recaros they'll be sold with it. So anyone contemplating, get in contact, I'm looking for £350 ono + a pair of good condition ABY black leather seats. I'll update this in the for sale thread.

Fingers crossed no other problems surface.
