Hi Guys and girls, Am Dave.
New to the forum as the title suggests and as yet a non S2 owner. Previously I have been all about the Golf Mk2 Gti`s, but feel I want something a bit more Audi shaped.
Currently I own a lovely one owner from new small bumper Mk2 gti in white, which is totally stock, even down to the steels, and to be honest I kinda love it for the fact it`s as nature intended, but now am considering going more agressive with an S2, however I am interested in taking it down a more modified route.
I have been a long time fan of the coupe, having owned a 20v`er and an Ur Quattro ( all be it that was a restoration job, that turned into a beyond repair job that turned into someone else`s job... I hear it`s doing fine, luckily they had more time and a lot more money!)
So I`ve been looking around and drawn up a spec of what am looking and would like some help and advice if it`s realistic, or possible...
later spec ABY engine
kingfisher blue or black.
recaro interior
cruise control
electric opening rear windows
climate control.
I am in the uk, so am not sure if a car with this spec from factory exists (I think the cruise control and the climate control would be the sticking points), how rare are some of the options to buy and retro fit?, ( recaro interiors i know are, but I love the period look of the seats )
Also am hoping to take the car to a reliable, useable power but want to know how far i can go it keep it a driveable, i want a car i can enjoy on the back roads, not just on the strip (my friend has a Mk4 golf R32 so he`s the benchmark to keep in my rear view mirror for as long as possible)
And finally does anyone make light weight panels for the S2, preferably in the standard shape, I would be wanting front wings, bonnet, boot and bumpers if possible as i want to car to look startard on the outside, but I like taking off Kg`s as much as I like adding Bhp`s.
Certainly some of the projects here are immense and I love the whole S2 forum community, so hopefully I haven`t p***ed anyone off by asking questions that have come up before.
So all that`s left is to say thank you for you input and I`'ll be sure to start posting as soon as the project is rolling.
