        A good read.

Does this mean you can do things to V8 ecus like get them to run without the immobilizer?

Interesting article. I have been considering having LPG fitted (once I get it running properly on petrol) and that has answered a few questions. I was hoping to use my 034efi ECU to run both fuels as it already has switchable maps and 5 spare injector drivers. I think the only flaw is I only have one auxiliary input so could not monitor both gas temperature and pressure.

Whats with the red sofa - looks comfy but?

MPG should not suffer a lot. Marginally 5%, maximum 10%. This assumes of course that the timing is set up right.

The main issue is that timing is usually way late for LPG on cruise... That also burns out the exhaust valves.

                P.S.
Bo, your consumption is too high on LPG imo.
A lot of the jap cars run flashlube to save the valves

Only know one car running it personally whether it works is another matter

                  interesting subject,

was thinking of LPG too, but all LPG installator tell me it s not suitable for turbo engines, neither for the last FSI engines ( rs4, etc...) but i v seen some RS2 with LPG in germany..

any info about a good LPG setup is welcome

any guys here running on it ?

You can run it on a turbo engine, you just _have to map for it_

Plus you must make sure that your nozzles are big enough, and that the LPG ECU can compensate for pressure drop with additional injection time.

You probably won't be able to run much more than 1.5-1.6 bar boost though in the higher ranges.

yep ,exactly, forgot to mention that, not suitable for turbo engines running 2.0 bar, like we all do !! lol

We all do? No, we don't.
And without tuning it's not suitable at all anyway.

Hello PRJ, if it is possible to answer these questions I'd appreciate your opinion on an engine in 2 hypothetical states from the point of view of an LPG conversion.
Chipped ABY engine with switchable chipsets for running LPG.
Chipped ADU engine with switchable chipsets for running LPG.

What nozzle size would you consider to be appropriate?
What limitations regarding boost would you expect to be imposed and what effect might that have?

                            Sorry Edit:
For background information I've spoken to a supplier who couldn't confirm what nozzle size was appropriate for a 5 cylinder turbo engine at 280bhp or 380bhp. Therefore it all seemed a bit hit and miss regarding sizing and lead me to believe the result would be similar to that you have seen with the V8.

Sitting at Borispyl Airport, and I just mapped a car yesterday to 400+ hp on a LPG system.

The LPG setup was as follows:
                              2x 310hp reducers
                              80hp/cyl injectors (biggest possible)
                              2.2 bar LPG pressure.
                              HX35 turbo.

                              On gasoline side:
                              630cc Siemens Dekas
                              044 pump

Engine: full stock with thicker gasket.

Boost 1.8 bar and 1.7 to redline.

The car has very similar acceleration time on LPG and gasoline, a little bit better on LPG. The owner said he will probably sell his 044 pump and 630cc's and fit stock injectors because he sees no point anymore to run gasoline for anything other than warmup.

Of course he has dual settings in the ECU with seamless automatic switching between LPG and gasoline.

If you are interested in building something specific, let me know.
