    Class Home Audio

Got the day off and I am rediscovering some of my old music and how good my Hi-Fi sounds. Just wondered what others are using at home and if they get many complaints off the neighbours

    Meridian 206b CD player
    Arcam Apha 10 power amps
ProAc Response Two Point Five Floor standing speakers Bi wired
Various high end connecting cables, speaker cables & power cables

I can't believe this kit is 15 years old + and sounds better today than when I bought it
    Love it

I love strolling downstairs on a day off, after a nice lie-in, when you should be at work, and cranking up the tunes on the hi-fi.

My previous neighbours when i lived in a terraced house used to think helicopters were landing outside when i put a film on, i made sure when i moved i got a detached house though, so no such complaints now

Linn Majik DS (Digital music streamer)
    Linn Akurate Kontrol (Preamp/processor)
Linn AV-5125 (Dynamik) x2 (5x power amps each)
    Linn AV-5140 (Aktiv, fronts)
    Linn AV-5140 (rears)
    Linn AV-5120 (center)
    Linn AV-5150 (sub)

yup, good mode of relaxation between conference calls, dive downstrairs, kids and wife out, hifi on and cranked up.

Definately not going to match much of the above kit wise but for what its worth:

      Cyrus dAD7
      Mission 753 floorstanders
Marantz nr1601 home cinema rec/amp - suprisingly good musically has so far stopped me going out to buy a dedicated amp

Very happy with my current setup:
            Pioneer VSX-AX4ASi-S receiver,
            Naim NAP250 power amp,
            BK XXLS 400 Subwoofer,
            B&W DM603 floorstanders,
            B&W HTM7 centre &
            Bose surrounds.

Couldn't live without the Naim NAP250, the sound is just amazing.

An old marantz pm57 amp, old technics cd player. Speakers were cheapy acoustic solutions and apparently "didnt go with the rest of the furniture" so i binned 'em.

Dave grohl used to sound good through it on a sunday afternoon with my old mans tangent speakers.

My stuff is not new or high end but sounds "nice" (it's a bit like my stock S2 - not brash & in yer face but it can still deliver when you want to turn up the dial)

                Rega Planer 2
                Marantz CD42
                Pioneer A 400 amp
                Mission 702e speakers
                Audi S2 Coupe 1995
                VW Passat GL5 (hatch) 1986
VW Passat GL 1.8 (saloon) 1986
                Carrera Subway 8

                      Hi fi

At present I use a Sony AV receiver but with a pair of old Mission 770s on the front. For home recording I have an old Rotel amp and a pair of Soundcraft Spirit 2s.

The stuff I'm not using may be of more interest:
Tannoy Ardens? 300watt each and very big.
                      2 x Quad 405 + preamp
                      2 x Harman Kardon HK770 + preamp
                      Thorens 126 with SME 3009 Mk3 (and a Syrinx PU3 boxed)
                      Carver amp
                      + ?
                      S2 91 (red standard)

Love Tannoys had loads of them over the years big warm sound, the tweeter design in the middle of the bass driver always impressed me.

Been into hifi for quite a long time now.
                          Current sytem;

                          Dynaudio Contour 1.4S Speakers
Avi Lab Series V2 Power Amp
                          Bel Canto Pre Amp
                          Naim Dac
                          Sonos Streamer
                          Meridian 506 CD Player

The speakers are amazingly clear, low and loud, perfect for the fairly small room I have. Went through lots of diffrent ones before I settled on these.

I have quite a few spare sets of speakers and amps. Best to have one in every room! But I live in a flat at the moment, so probably not necessary!

I have a real weakness for bargain secondhand kit even if I dont need it...

I've got an old Meridian 50 player, in the cupboard now and replaced with a Linn Sneaky DS and all my music ripped to my media server. No more CDs and sounds fantastic :mischeif:

Sonic has a crazy set-up, he bought my speakers and sub and just added it to his system...

I have Linn Ninka floorstanders running Active with 2x AV5105 power amps and an Exotik pre amp (with DS upgrade - uses Linn Akurate DAC). With a matching subwoofer and centre speaker.

It sounds great, but I really need to get rear speakers set up - I have everything to do it, just not sure how to without Laura noticing the trailing wires
