    Trading - ian4455

Unfortunately I am forced to move to a public disclosure of the (edit: potentially) fraudulent activities of forum member username: ian4455.

My PM's are clearly being ignored at this point, as he has been logging in and asking for help to get his car running. Please do not offer advice.

Here are the events as they have transpired over the past few months...

I agreed to purchase said ABY Airbox that was listed in this thread:

Sent PM Feb-29 asking about shipping to USA...

"Hi, Shipping will be £40 via fedex. Ian"

    OK, no problem...

Sent payment via Paypal on 02-29 in the amount of 90 GBP.

A month goes by and I see nothing, so I check in on April-02...

"Sorry i've been unable to post everything sold due to working late the last two weeks. I'm behind on everyones parts not just yours, i'll get this posted and to you this week. Ian"

OK, I can deal with that...so I wait another month and inquire again on May-04 and May-07 to which I am not receiving any responses.

So that is the story. I have no recourse as it looks like I gifted (shame on me) the payment, which I often do for seemingly low risk transactions. He seemed to be an upstanding active member...so much for assumptions.

So, ian4455 has potentially stolen 90GBP (or roughly $150 US) for an ABY airbox that doesn't appear to ever be making it stateside.

I have been around here for a long time and have been through a lot of good transactions here.

Calm down... I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation... people get bogged down for all sorts of reasons - work, money, family, kids, holiday.... god knows.

Hopefully he will be on here very soon to try and resolve the situation, and either get you your airbox or give you your money back.

Also, with regard to the http://www.s2forum.com/forum/faq.php...es]forum rules

    For Sale listing guidelines

Follow through on your deal! Buyer and seller. This is a small community and if you don’t send payment or ship as promised you wont be trading here long. And when you ship, pack it the way you would want to receive it.

Communication is the key to a good trade, especially if there is a glitch along the way. Keep the PMs or Emails up to date to let the other trader know what’s up.

Purchases are made entirely at your own risk and S2forum.com takes no responsibility for sales initiated throught S2forum

    Violators

This forum is unmoderated at the moment. Trade at your own risk and use the above guidlines.

We can take no legal action against bad traders! If you violate the rules or guidelines you will not be trading here for long.

Violators will be given a warning and temporarily banned from trade.

If, after a certain period of time, it's not resolved, you will be banned from trade permanently, added to the Blacklist and given warning #2.

If still unresolved, you will be banned from S2Forum.

How do I report a suspicious advert or violation

Please PM/Email an Adminstrator or Moderator who can take an action on the listing and if required ban the user. (i.e not blast it all over the forum)

I understand getting bogged down...but when they are on the forum starting threads and making posts, how can any of those reasons still stand?

And, the forum alerts users of pending PMs.

All I'm looking for is an update and a valid excuse.

        Andy, with all due respect.
It's been two months, and the guy has been posting threads up like no tomorrow in this time. I think that cab9fab has reason to be pissed at this.

Indeed - but you have no idea how many of these types of problem we deal with, and how often they are down to poor communication and an oversight on somebodies part... they pretty much all end on good terms

Yes and other people outside of mods getting involved do not help
This is number 4 for me this week
I really think phone numbers should be exchanged once a sale is committed
