    Electrical nightmare

Has anyone experienced a lighting fault like this on an S2 3B?

    Lights of: brake lights work
Lights on dim (first click): front side lights work, back lights work
Lights on full (second and final click): front lights work, rear lights don't!

This is a new car to me. Yes I am a novice. Yes I am pulling my hair out! Yess I still love the car.

    Any advice much appreciated

Take a look at the bulb holders on the rear they tend to get quite corroded it does sound like a bad earth or a problem with the light switch itself.

for a start go to the rear light bulb holders behind the two plastic trims.
check for corrosion etc. water comes in through this area and the terminals rust etc.
make sure all the contacts and earths are clean.

Yup, as above check the rear light boards, clean up the contacts and spray with dielectric grease to protect them.

The stalk switch could also be the culprit:

That spring is no the least of my worries haha thing tried to set alight. I will have to check the smoke damage first but am pretty sure they are the source of the problems.
