Some things are sent to try our patience

So I'm going to have a moan guys, sorry in advance...

I'm going to start with I love my avant and won't get rid of it but in the last 2-3 weeks it's really testing my patience! First the fuel line splits under the car so last weekend I fitted all new lines...
Same day my brother notices my secondary water pump is dripping and my mate decides to point out my rad looks bad... Then mid week it decides to dribble most of its water over the floor....

Today I went and got a good condition genuine Audi rad from andy in Plymouth, cheers bud, and have come home and fitted it and fitted the ill set of Samco water hoses I have had in a box for to long... Also fitted a brand new secondary water pump.

Well happy it's all done and I have noticed the windscreen bottle is leaking in the front arch so looks like I'm under the car again tomorrow!

Also last week my top mounts (I think) have started squeaking so they need doing soon too.

Now I have had the car for four years and done things to keep it good and this month it has decided to punish me for no reason! Blooming car.

Can't live with it, can't live without it! Good job the mrs doesn't mind or moan about it.... Yet! Lol!

    Keep the faith brother!

These cars as fantastic as they are are getting on now and being underneath it is a way of life if you want to enjoy the retro fun

And you know you are in the right place for help

Hah I would never get rid of it but it does get a bit annoying as its my daily. I also know, and have done for a while that this is the best place for help with anything mechanical, even Vw t4's haha. I have lived under cars since getting my first beetle when I was 18?... So 9 years later I, used to it but it's still annoying mind you would rather be doing it to a retro, decent car than one of these modern electric boxes that pass as cars these days.

As said, each time something needs fixing it gets upgraded haha. Oh the joys of old car ownership.

I was/am in a similar position with my RS6. Just forked out for a new gearbox and few other bits, was looking forward to worry free motoring for a while. Just got back home and joy of joys, rear wheel bearing is now making a moaning noise. Back to the garage it is then
