    Road trip spares...what to pack?

I'm off to the ring and alps in August in the s2 and starting to think what to take with me.

I'll be taking all fluids and a brake bleed kit but do you reckon anything else would be worth while like brake pads etc but bare in mind nearly everything on my car has been changed and only done 300miles!

Another annoying thing I have is my spare wheel doesn't fit in the boot recess so does anyone have any suggestions or a spare spare wheel as it's not helping the situation!

I bought this 17" spacesaver to use as a spare, thought it was about time I had a spare that would fit over the front brakes!

                      I've been on a few road trips in excess of 3000 miles over a few weeks, to have had the stuff needed to fix the problems I encountered I would have needed;
                      - Coil pack
                      - Radiator
                      - Front damper

I've always taken fuses and stuff like that but it never seems to be the simple stuff that goes wrong anyway!

                        - Coil pack - could be useful...
                        - Radiator - just replaced
                        - Front damper - just serviced

coil pack could be a useful one though...might get a spare

Fuel pump, crank and rpm sensors, airflow unit, coil if 1.8t kit,and most important all hoses that can blow.I managed to blow a hose at 2km from home and left in the road untill engine cooled down to change a hose.I burned my hand on exhaust and turbo cooling pipe and lot of my clients passed that evening near me smiling and telling me to sell my old junk and get a decent car
These cars do not run if "false"air is aspired in engine or only mine?1.8t run without airflow unit(i moved it at the shop).

A spare POS unit, light and small, and very annoying if one of them starts to act up.

"Definitiveā€ list of suggested items should be complied as the last post of the thread before you go, and then your update post on how you got on when you get back.

                            Enjoy the road trip.

A spare car on the back of a trailer is probably best!

I'm banking on the fact I have all new bushes and joints, all engine pipes are new and samco, most of the engine seals are new and it seems very healthy!

It's the little bits like you've mentioned like the fuel pump will be the problems but to cover all eventualities you'd need a support van Haha

The fact I'll be on Germany most the time may mean spares are easier to find!
