    IC and Rad mounting

    Not an S2

I have a turbo technics Mk2 Scirocco GTX - Am changing the rad to an all alloy higher capacity unit and putting a larger IC on too. The IC is in front of the rad.

My question - Is it better to mount the two very close (like AC rad & water rad on new cars) or have a gap (I have a bit of room), or do we think it makes very little difference??

The one's i've seen before are close together on other cars, I doubt it will make much difference having a space in between.

Out of interest, you got any pictures of the car, sounds interesting

            brings back memories.

i remember speaking to geoff burrows at technics about a conversion for my scala many moons ago.

            depends on fans and space.

a neat way is to fit a pusher fan in the gap between the IC and rad rather than the larger puller fan on the back. a pacet pro or similar flows lots more air and is about 1/2 as thick.
