Just fast read the add and it looks like it had been resprayed and got new oem parts for a fortune... fine a respray can cost 500£ but if he pay those money for parts like that list he had the paintjob is more likly 3000£ And right bouyer will pay that, its impossible to really see the quality of the car buy photos, but would it be LHD and in the condition I think it is 20k isnt unnormal... still I nice car

Rarity costs money and the climate (which is a conspiracy by the way) doesn't seem to make any sense of it. My mate had a mint 50k on the clock e30 M3 which he sold for 8.5k just before the conspiracy kicked in. If he'd waited until the conspiracy was in full flow he could have got over 30k for it. The target market for rare cars doesn't seem to be affected by the conspiracy and most of them do eventually sell for strong money.

£3000 for repaint... not from my workshop.. Thats two weeks. No way can you get a perfect job for that. When I painted my UR 12 years ago the paint alone was £650!
Bare shell paint on an Aston Martin is 20K. Thats just the paint. No repairs no dissasembly or reassembly.
As for saying in current climate... Its never been so mental! the money dudes are just buying special cars. No property or banking it. They are investing in cars. where I used to work they bought a DB6 mk2 for 110k last august and sat on it until last month and sold it for 255K!
Don't knock the very strong market. Its good for us!

lol £500 for respray £5000 plus for a full respray glass Paint and materials is astronomical perfection you do everything twice some people are paying 5 figure sums to restore UR Quattros
lol £500 for respray £5000 plus for a full respray glass out Paint and materials are astronomical to get near perfection (i personally think perfection is a myth theres always something you could do better) you do everything twice some people are paying 5 figure sums to restore UR Quattros
A healthy debate from this topic - and as ever falls into the 2 camps, it's worth £20k/it's not worth £20k.
At the end of the day, you never get money you spend on a car fully, if a car is 10k, and you blow £5k on a respray, it does not ultimately mean you will get £15 k for the car - if that was the case, then you could spend every last penny on whatever you want!!!
The rarity factor on something unique as the Rs2, means ther is always discrepancies,
32k miles at £30k, 149k miles at £20k, and anywhere between 90/130k miles for £9-14k.
There is condition and history to also look at, which is equally crucial, and more important than mileage, but to an enthusiast like people on here. If some "enthusiast" here wants, I am sure they will stump up the £20k
If someone looking at high end / desirable performance and classics does, maybe they won't.....
When I was trowing figures I didnt mean with a reciept, just under table prices... And everyone has a option when talking respray, in my mind nothing but perfection may occur and then it cost
But still you never get back money you spend on your car (when we are talking about these amounts)
