    Exhaust Rubber Mounts

One of my exhaust rubber mounts has perished & fallen off, a quick look underneath at the rest of them & they all look a bit iffy too - so does anybody know off hand the best place to source the replacements & also the quantities needed ?? The exhaust is std 1995 ABY coupe

The local fast fit are about as much use as ***** on a nun

Would these happened to be the ones mentioned above? My exhaust makes a terrible rattle with the rubber mounts it's currently using, I suppose it's plug and play?

Depends on the exhaust you are using, I'm guessing those would be compatible with most similar exhausts to standard ABY. I think there are 3 or 4 mounts, not sure.

Chain reinforced exhaust mounts for S2

                      Hi all,

I have an Audi Coupe S2 ABY 1995. I bought the chain reinforced exhaust mounts.
Someone can explain me how you can assemble them ?
I see it almost impossible because there is no possibility to unscrew the hanger from the car, it´s welded to the car.

I would greatly appreciate your help

                      Thanks

I find it best to put the car on axle stands and then jack the exhaust up to the underside. That should make it easier. I use a hooked tent peg puller to then hook the hanger on.

They are not easy to fit because they have virtually no 'stretch' to them so thereby very difficult to hook over the exhaust mounts !

I purchased a set after reading this thread because I was sick of replacing them every 6 months
One fitter refused to fit them saying I had the wrong ones ?
One struggled and then gave up !
Eventually the third fitter bent the brackets slightly to ease fitment then bent the brackets back to there original position when fitted.

Had them fitted around a month now and they are perfect and my exhaust is very secure
For what this cost me so far I could have bought an S2

What size rubber mounts did you buy & did you get them all the same size ??

I actually modified mine slightly and cut out the centre piece of rubber with a sharp knife, leaving me with a simple chain reinforced rubber hoop this meant the could be squashed into an oval to help fitting. IM not saying anybody should do it this way, but its the way i chose to do it as i have a custom exhaust.
