Price of scrap metal /kg ???

Anyone know roughly how much scrap dealers are paying for scrap metal?

just wondered with the stuff i cant shift (subframes and the like) whether it may be best to have it weighed in.

You won't get much for it per kg, but it's still worth doing rather than binning it and you can get a pleasant surprise if you take in enough of it.

In Plymouth I usually find EMR by Laira Bridge and Sims on Sutton Road give the best prices.

andy, your best off storing them under a sheet, trust me they will ALL go in the next 3yrs, long time maby but prices for good stock will go up.

i ran a Ford breakers for 6yrs and i would advise keeping EVERY nut and bolt from a car you break, it will all sell one day

I ve kept stuff 10 years before it sold, but someone wants everything eventually
Popular stuff that breaks/wears always goes first and u get left with stuff you chuck only to be asked for it days later

Had the same outcome with MK2 Golf's...

£150 per tone for general/light like a car
£200 per tone for heavy metal h beams etc.

Never really been paid anything less tho it fluctuates often
