    Head removal

    Hi guys

Sorry if there is a guide on how to do this but I cant find one anywhere im afraid... (in this case, search is not my friend)

As some of you know I have an issue with the head on the car so it needs to come off and be sorted. Is there a guide anywhere on how to remove the head from the S2? Its an ABY....

I have my mate who is a tip top mechanic who is going to help me in the evenings but I would like to be able to get on with it without him if I can. Im going to do the belts whilst its all apart and vsos etc....

So far I have started by getting the lights out of the way and removing the airbox, charge pipe and the samcos in the area with the N75.... to make more room. I am perfectly capable but would need something to follow for some of it I think....

Any guides or links would be great

    Cheers in advance.
    Chris

It is not overly difficult, just unbolt/disconnect everything and remove, make sure everything is unbolted/disconnected as its a PITA to lift the head of and discover something is still connected.

There are a few ways you can do it though, depending where you disconnect stuff, ie leaving manifolds on (make good handles but the whole lot is heavier). Also depends what condition exhaust manifold studs are in etc.

I would probably just remove the front bumper, crossmember/intercooler and slam panel, gives more room and makes it easier to do the timing belt.

Also make sure you have somewhere to sit the head down, and dont sit it combustion chamber down on the valves and bend them.
