Insurance - Who to talk to?

Speaking with Sky regarding the renewal and covering the BMW, also waiting on replies from Pace Ward and Prestige (noticed they were on the forum).

I've not bothered with Flux given moved away from them and Ross and others experiences.

Went with LWIB this year and happy so far. No issue with the agreed value and they went up to 7500 on the limited mileage aspect.

Have gone with Pace Ward who have put together a brilliant package on the S2 and BMW.

Couple of things though, your mods are only covered up to £500 total. (fine if you just want to stay legal, pita if you want them replaced though)

Also if you did it all online the comparison site makes some assumptions based on the information you provide, this is still your responsibility however.

Good advice, I'd advise checking and double checking all details. As far as I know, the company you mention do not insure uprated intercoolers so that already rings alarm bells with me.

I went with sky insurance for my s2, very friendly helpful. Always wanted to give the best deal I found. They mirrored my no claims off my other car, would come back with cheaper quotes I found and they would under cut the other companies as must don't budge at all. They now have both my cars with them after how friendly and helpful they were. The guy always remembered me also when ringing up just had to say my name and he knew it was the s2 quick off the mark.

To recap my experiences whilst renewing...

Flux - Didn't bother with them as mentioned.

Chris Knott - Didn't bother replying.

Prestige - Had a good chat with the lady on the end of the phone, but nobody bothered replying to me after taking details on the cars to quote. Clearly to busy to quote for my business.

LWIB - Wouldn't quote with track day cover and tbf i didn't give them much time to quote without.

Sky - My renewal quote was below that of last year, very good experience and always a pleasure to deal with, but unfortunately couldn't put a quote together with the BMW and S2 to match

Pace Ward - Recommended by Lloyd, spoke to Jonathan who sorted me out with a fantastic package with both cars. All mods on the S2 declared and covered like-for-like with a valuation on the car of £15k using the same underwriter that i was with at Sky for both the cars. Can't recommend highly enough so give them a go!
