Just a quick question about rear doors.

Someone has asked if the doors from my old 1.9 tdi avant will fit their 2.0E saloon?

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

In think they won't as the the avant doors are less tapered
at the top of the class frame.
I once got a saloon door for my 100 avant and lived with it for a bit
but there was a gap at the top were the saloon door tapered off,
it still kept the rain out but did not look right.
I can't say for certain the 80 is the same in this respect but it may well
be. the bottom of the the door on the 100 was the same it was just the
glass frame that differed.
If I'm correct in assuming the 80/100 doors differ the same from saloon to
avant this means the avant door would not close if put on the saloon.
I've just looked at some pics and I'm almost certain I'm right,
so in short they won't fit.

I think the doors themselves are the same but the window frame is different

Jo and Error are correct. The door shell is the same, but the window frame on the saloon slopes more towards the rear than does the avant frame. You could always swap the frame and then you'd be golden.
